Tasting- Amalaya
Name: Amalaya Variety: Malbec From: Salta, Argentina Year: 2016 Price: $34 in restaurant, $14 in store "Brilliant ruby color with violet edges. Strawberries, raspberries and ripe fruit with touch of pepper and spices aromas. In mouth, flavors of red fruit, spice and hints of vanilla from aging in French oak. Round, soft tannins lead to a delicate, lingering finish." —winemaker This honestly might be my new go-to red wine. I am an avid fan of Malbec's, which is why I am wading into this course with what I know. IT was fruity, fresh, bold, and comforting as it was paired with a big plate of spaghetti and meatballs at a local pasta shop. My sister picked this wine after a recommendation from the bartender, and we were very pleased! I don't know if Malbec is supposed to pair well with pasta, but in my opinion it did! Will definitely re-purchase. Cheers!
